Most of the job was outbound. I found schools and organizations that might actually want the product, worked out who made the decision, wrote the first email, and ran the demo if they replied. That came to about 4,000 messages across South Korea, Estonia, Finland and the United States, and roughly 50 meetings. Three Estonian schools are running pilots, and we signed partnerships with EdTech organizations in Estonia and Finland.

The part I did not expect to matter most was the follow-up. Almost none of those meetings came from a first email. They came from the second or third.

I also coach tennis, and have for three years, most recently at Newport Beach Tennis Club.

  • Ran ZEP QUIZ demos built around each school's own curriculum rather than a stock deck; the calculus set below was one of them.

Outside work

None of this is on my résumé, but it is where most of my week goes once the laptop shuts. It is also where I learned the most about getting people to show up for something regularly, which turns out to be the same problem in a running club and in a sales pipeline.

Founder — Camino Fidei, “the way of faith”

  • Founded the first running club my church has had, after noticing several of us were already running separately.
